Hadnot Point Child Development Center Grand Opening
Release Date: 10/8/2009
The Hadnot Point Child Development Center quietly opened its doors in August to offer much needed day care for 104 children. On Tuesday, October 6, 2:00p.m., there was an official Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony. The Hadnot Point Child Development Center offers a variety of services to include: Part-day Preschool and Toddler Play Groups and 66 spaces each day for Hourly Care. (a service that is in much demand at Camp Lejeune.)
While CAmp Lejeune Marine & Family Services manages a 6 Child Development Centers on the Base, with several more slated to come in the next two years. Camp Lejeune lacked enough facilities where parents could drop their child off for a short time. Unlike the regular childcare options, the availability of programs at the Hadnot Point Child Development Center is not determined by either deployment or employment status. These programs are even open to the children of Marine Corps Community Services employees.
