Four Inducted into Marine Corps Sports Hall of Fame

QUANTICO, Va. — Two former All-Pro football players, a New York Yankee All-Star and an Olympic track and field medalist have been inducted into the Marine Corps Sports Hall of Fame.
Edward W. LeBaron Jr., Henry A. Bauer, Joshua Culbreath and Ernest A. Stautner joined former Marines and sporting greats Ted Williams, Roberto Clemente and Lee Trevino as members of the seven-year-old shrine.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - USA Wrestling has named Naval Academy graduate Jay Antonelli the 2007 Greco-Roman Coach of the Year. It is the second time in his career that Antonelli has won this prestigious honor (1988, 2007).
Antonelli served on the coaching staff for the historic U.S. team that won the 2007 World Team crown in Baku, Azerbaijan. It was the first U.S. Greco-Roman team to win a Senior World Team title, and featured three individual medalists.

In 1993, the Marine Corps Men's Volleyball Team brought home the silver medal at the Armed Forces Championship. Their first and only medal in team history. Until 2008, when the Marine Corps Men went undefeated to capture the Armed Forces gold.

Marine wrestlers from the All Marine Wrestling Team traveled to Creteil, France to compete in the 13th annual Cristo Lutte International Invitational wrestling tournament Jan. 27.
During the Greco-Roman style tournament, the Marines squared up with world-class competition from more than 14 countries, including three world champions and six other world medalists.

CAMP HANSEN Marine Corps Base edged its competition and took the gold in the 2007 Far East Regional Softball Tournament Aug. 16 on Camp Hansen. After routing 3rd Marine Logistics Group 14-2 in the playoffs, MCB advanced to face 1st Marine Aircraft Wing and claim a 3-0 victory in the championship game.
