Sgt Marissa Setley and Cpl Thomas Hinton were crowned All-Marine Champions at the All-Marine Golf Championship hosted at MCRD Parris Island, SC 31 July to 7 August.

QUANTICO, Va. — Two former All-Pro football players, a New York Yankee All-Star and an Olympic track and field medalist have been inducted into the Marine Corps Sports Hall of Fame.

Edward W. LeBaron Jr., Henry A. Bauer, Joshua Culbreath and Ernest A. Stautner joined former Marines and sporting greats Ted Williams, Roberto Clemente and Lee Trevino as members of the seven-year-old shrine.

Beginning in June, Head Coach Ron Simms and his fighters have been working on a new program that may provide huge dividends for All-Marine team down the line — way, way down the line. They are giving the future of the sport a boost by initiating the first Camp Lejeune Youth Boxing Program.

Point Mugu, Calif. – Athlete Sailors, Soldiers, Airmen, and Marines stationed throughout the world traded in their combat boots for running shoes in the 2008 Armed Forces Triathlon Championships at Naval Base Ventura County (NBVC) Point Mugu May 31.

HQMC MR, QUANTICO, VIRGINIA -- Second Lieutenant Justine Whipple and Gunnery Sergeant Kenneth Young have been selected as the U.S. Marine Corps Female and Male Athletes of the Year for 2007. The pair will be honored at the Marine Corps Sports Hall of Fame Induction Luncheon Ceremony at the Clubs at Quantico in Quantico, Va., on July 18, 2008, at 11 a.m.

Loaded with new faces and returning veterans from Iraq, the Marine Corps Wrestling team grappled their way to a second place overall finish at the 2008 Armed Forces Wrestling Championship 14-18 March in New Orleans, LA.

The Armed Forces Men's Soccer tournament began at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, Jan. 31.

The tournament brought the Marine Corps, Navy, Army and Air Force together on the field of battle to determine who possessed the best soccer team.

 Marine wrestlers from the All Marine Wrestling Team traveled to Creteil, France to compete in the 13th annual Cristo Lutte International Invitational wrestling tournament Jan. 27.

During the Greco-Roman style tournament, the Marines squared up with world-class competition from more than 14 countries, including three world champions and six other world medalists.

The five-mile race pitted teams and individuals from various Marine Corps installations against each other.

MARINE CORPS AIR STATION CHERRY POINT, N.C., Nov. 5, 2007  Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point is hosting the Armed Forces Mens Basketball Championships, which began Nov. 3 and will continue until Thursday.

The Armed Forces Championships pit the best basketball players from the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines against each other for the gold medal.

Army Takes Gold; Marines Grab Silver

MARINE CORPS AIR STATION CHERRY POINT, N.C. (August 23, 2007)  The Albany Varsity Softball Team won the East Coast Regional Finals in a bruising game at Marine Corps Air Station, Cherry Point, NC, August 22. The final score of 17-13 tells much of the story.

Eight teams battled for the East Coast Regional Softball Champion title Aug. 20-22 at the Marine Corps Air Station, Cherry Point softball fields.

It was a busy week for Marine Corps Air Station Miramar's softball powerhouse and one that has people pondering the squad"s place in Marine Corps sports history.

CAMP HANSEN  Marine Corps Base edged its competition and took the gold in the 2007 Far East  Regional Softball Tournament Aug. 16 on Camp Hansen. After routing 3rd Marine Logistics Group 14-2 in   the playoffs, MCB advanced to face 1st Marine Aircraft Wing and claim a 3-0 victory in the championship game.
