Marines pound competition at Pankration/Combat Grappling National Tournament

Fight Club 29, the pankration/combat grappling team from MCAGCC 29 Palms, captured top team honors at the Pankration/Combat Grappling National Tournament held in Las Vegas, Nevada on 25 June. GySgt James Clark, SSgt Michael Smith, and HM3 Dahlen Wilson took home gold medals and automatically secured a spot on the US National team. Lcpl Cesar Ramirez and Capt Edwin Nunez also earned medals and are selected as alternates for the US National team. Fight Club 29 coach Mark Geletko has been invited by USA Amatuer Pankration/Combat Grappling to be head coach for the national team in the FILA World Championships to be held in Belgrade, Serbia, 29 September-1 October. Additionally, Corey Bennin of Camp Pendleton has been invited to serve as assistant coach.
