Sgt Clark places 12th in the World Greco-Roman Wrestling Championship

Sgt Jacob Clark from MCB Camp Butler placed 12th at the 2006 World Greco-Roman Wrestling Championship held in Guangzhou, China, Sept. 25 - Oct. 1, 2006. Sgt Clark (84 Kg) loss is first match to the eventual silver medalist Nazmi Avluca (Turkey), 0-6, 3-0, 1-2. Clark bounced back by defeating Sandor Bardosi (Hungary), 4-1, 0-2, 2-2. In his third match in the Repechage bracket, Clark lost to the eventual bronze medalist Saman Tahmasebi (Iran), 2-5, 1-3. Sgt Clark earned his spot on the 2006 World Team by winning the U.S. World Team Trial Championship this past May. Since then, Sgt Clark won the silver medal at the Pan-American Games. Sgt Clark is currently ranked number one in the United States in the 84 Kg, Greco-Roman weight class. For further information, please go to: |
