Lifestyle, Insights, Networking, Knowledge, and Skills (L.I.N.K.S.) is a critical way for Spouses, Marines, and Families to build a network of peers and mentors that will support you through your Marine Corps journey. This course, made available through the Marine Corps Family Team Building program, strengthens community among spouses who understand and can relate in ways non-military friends and family cannot. The connective tissue of a network of peers supports the bonds of healthy relationships within your family and within the Marine Corps community.
This connective tissue is established through the involvement of L.I.N.K.S. Mentors. These mentors will help you build new networks, friendships, and support systems through the L.I.N.K.S. framework. The L.I.N.K.S. class and mentors support you by teaching you how to handle separation due to deployments, late nights at work, and last minute changing schedules. Additionally, you’ll learn to navigate installation resources and speak the language of the Marine Corps.
Ready to get involved? Ready to build relationships and make a positive impact throughout your community by sharing your experiences with other Marines and spouses? Call or visit your installation’s Marine Corps Family Team Building office to volunteer as a L.I.N.K.S. mentor or to find out more about L.I.N.K.S.
In spite of COVID 19 and the movement restrictions that have been put in place, PCS season will soon be kicking into high gear. If a PCS is in your near future, L.I.N.K.S. can help you prepare!
