Sgt Tyler Haas transitioned out of the Marine Corps in May, 2018. While preparing for his transition, Sgt Haas sat down with Mark Munger, the Southeast Regional Network Coordinator, and shared how the Marine for Life Network helped him as he prepared for transition.
How did Sgt Hass become aware of the Marine for Life Network? “I sat next to the Career Planner in the S-1 for a long time, and always heard him preaching to other Marines about the Marine For Life Network. So, when I decided to transition out of the Marine Corps, I knew exactly where to go.”
How did Sgt Hass get connected with employers? Sgt Haas says,“I called Mr. Munger and requested a meeting to get connected with employers in the Raleigh, NC area. Marine for Life connected me with Jason Kemp at PIKE in Raleigh, NC.” Sgt Haas was able to make favorable impressions as he went through the interview process. When asked what his plans were following his EAS he noted, “I plan on working on power lines with PIKE in Raleigh.”
Sgt Haas has shown the value of taking the initiative to ask for assistance through the Marine for Life Network. When asked if he would recommend the Marine for Life Network as a resource for his fellow Marines, Sgt Haas said, “Yes, I tell would tell any Marine in a similar situation as myself to get ahold of Mr. Munger and the Marine for Life Network.”
