The Department of the Navy Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Office has created a graphic novel, “Atlantic-A Graphic Novel on Consent.” The novel was created with the help of Marines and Sailors, for Marines and Sailors. “Atlantic” follows the story of two high school friends, Mike and Sarah, from Sarah’s enlistment with the Navy and Mike’s enlistment with the Marine Corps, through their first deployment, and their return home. Mike and Sarah’s stories help the reader have frank conversations about topics such as bystander intervention, healthy relationships, consent, and communication.
The graphic novel can be read on its own or used with the facilitator’s guide to have small group discussions. Instructions on how to use the graphic novel as a tool in small group discussions can be found in the facilitator’s guide. If you have questions about the novel or would like assistance with a sexual assault related matter, please contact your local Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Program.

Victims of military sexual assault are never alone. Marines and their families have immediate access to resources and referrals by calling their installation’s 24/7 Sexual Assault Support Line.
Your friend calls and tells you the unthinkable. He/she has been sexually assaulted. Consider these "Dos" and "Don'ts" when offering support to a victim.
