Fitness Centers

Fitness Centers build healthy Marines and families by offering safe and quality programs that support mission readiness and enhance quality of life.  Fitness Centers are designed to support fitness programs to maintain and improve military readiness and resiliency through instructional combat fitness activities and skill development.

Fitness programs are designed to promote the physical readiness of the Marines and directly support the accomplishment of the military mission.



  • There are currently 56 Fitness Centers located across Marine Corps installations.
  • Fitness staff certifications include National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) (Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and Certified Personal Trainer), American Council on Exercise and National Academy of Sports Medicine.
  • Fitness Centers are equipped with multi-modality equipment such as treadmills, elliptical machines, stationary bikes, free weights and weight machines.
  • Fitness Centers offer services such as self-directed physical training, group exercise classes, nutrition education, personal training, unit PT and mobile fitness to active duty, reservists, dependents and retirees.
  • Fitness Centers are home for the High Intensity Tactical Training (HITT) Centers.

Some installations charge fees for services such as group exercise classes and personal training.  Fitness Centers operate at 90 hours per week. Hours of operation for centers may be found by visiting the Semper Fit and Recreation offices aboard installations.
